Perlage Universal Cap Assembly

The Perlage cap screws to the clear shell of the safety enclosure. It contains the one-way valve that creates the air-tight seal with the bottle, and the filling disk that mates to the tip of the pressurizer during filling. The valve holds the filling disk in place, and the valve, in turn, is held in place by a retaining ring.

A patented feature of this design is that the valve doesn't spin along with cap during tightening. Once the valve contacts the lip of the bottle during tightening, it grips the glass lip and stays stationary while the cap continues to spin down. This keeps the valve from grinding against the glass and getting "cored out" like a cookie cutter by the lip of the bottle with repeated use. This feature gives the valve a virtually indefinite lifetime.
